Understand the rating change before writing an appeal

Review count alone cannot explain a rating drop. The deleted reviews’ star values determine whether the remaining average rises or falls.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter the rating and count from before the reviews disappeared.
  2. Enter how many reviews were lost and their estimated average star rating.
  3. Compare the remaining average and prepare an appeal draft using evidence you actually have.

Free calculator and appeal draft. No signup required to calculate an estimate.

Illustrative example

Losing ten 5-star reviews

Before deletion
100 reviews at 4.5 stars: 450 total stars
Removed ratings
10 × 5 stars: 50 stars removed
Remaining average
(450 − 50) ÷ 90 = about 4.44 stars

What to do with the result

In this example, losing high ratings lowers the average. Losing low ratings can raise it. Keep the before-and-after counts, dates, and available review records alongside the calculation.

What this tool can tell you

Rounded starting ratings and uncertain deleted-review ratings make this an estimate. The tool cannot identify missing reviews, recover records that were never collected, restore reviews, or guarantee an appeal outcome.

What if I do not know the deleted reviews’ ratings?

Try several plausible averages and compare the range. Describe the result as an estimate rather than evidence that a specific review was removed.

Will an appeal restore the reviews?

Google decides whether a review is eligible to appear. A draft organizes your information; it does not establish that a removal was incorrect.

Detect deleted reviews automatically

ReviewPanel monitors your Google Business Profile and detects when reviews disappear. Original content, rating, reviewer name, and dates are preserved automatically — no manual tracking needed.

This calculator provides estimates based on the numbers you enter. Google's actual rating calculation may differ slightly due to internal weighting or processing delays. ReviewPanel cannot restore deleted reviews or guarantee the outcome of any appeal. Appeals are handled entirely by Google.
